One day after he shoved star guard Allen Crabbe during a team huddle, Cal basketball coach Mike Montgomery was publicly reprimanded by the Pac-12.

The conference did not suspend the coach, who in the second half Sunday night pushed Crabbe while on the sideline. Crabbe soon returned to the game and scored 14 points in the final nine minutes or so to lead the Golden Bears to a come-from-behind win.

"While emotions can run high in competitive environments, Pac-12 coaches are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that will reflect credit on the institution and the conference," Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said. "Each Pac-1 coach must be aware that they are an example to student-athletes and other students, and consistent with this influence and visibility, must meet a particularly high standard."

Cal athletic director Sandy Barbour called the shove "unacceptable" Sunday. Montgomery apologized.
