21 Brandon Ashley

• File: Freshman, 6 feet 8 inches, 235 pounds

• Role: Usually the first forward off the bench, Ashley provides athleticism and length inside. Started 21 games before Kevin Parrom replaced him at Utah (Feb. 17)

• Average minutes played: 20.6

• Key stats: 7.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg

• Season highlights: Had eight points, 5 rebounds and three assists on March 14 against Colorado. Averaged 8.3 points and 8.0 rebounds over the three-game Diamond Head Classic. Recorded first UA double-double of season with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Long Beach State (Nov. 19).

• NCAA tournament history: Averaged 7.5 points and 6 points against Belmont and Harvard

30 Angelo Chol

• From: San Diego

File: Sophomore, 6-9, 225

• Role: The ninth man in UA's nine-man rotation, the athletic and energetic Chol is often used for spot situations when matchups or foul trouble dictate.

• Average minutes played: 8.5

• Key stats: 2.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg

• Season highlights: Made a significant move to return to rotation for good after collecting six points and eight rebounds on Feb. 6 against Stanford, when Grant Jerrett was out with a foot injury. Hit 4 of 6 field goals and grabbed six rebounds at Colorado (Feb. 14), the start of a four-game string in which he played double-digit minutes.

• NCAA tournament history: Had double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Harvard. In 2010-11: Averaged 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in four games, with 10 rebounds against Connecticut.

33 Grant Jerrett

• Role: A reserve forward, Jerrett is a good shot-blocker and is among the Wildcats' best perimeter shooters.

• Season highlights: Had 14 points on 4-fo-5 shooting at UCLA (March 3). Blocked 26 shots in the past 20 games.

• NCAA tournament history: Had four points, six rebounds and two blocks against Belmont.

13 Nick Johnson

• From: Gilbert

• File: Sophomore, 6-3, 200

• Role: Starting combo guard, plays both shooting and point guard, and is the team's top perimeter defender.

• Average minutes: 31.3

• Key stats: 11.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.7-1 assist-turnover ratio

• Season highlights: Dished 57 assists over past 14 games (4.1 average). Has scored in double figures in 5 of past 6 games. Scored 18 points with four assists against Colorado in the Pac-12 tournament (March 14). Made game-saving block on Dec. 25 in UA's Diamond Head Classic championship win over San Diego State.

• NCAA tournament history: Had 12 points and 5 assists against Belmont. Helped keep Harvard to 27.8-percent three-point shooting.

• NCAA tournament history: Hit 62.5 percent from the field in UA's wins over Belmont and Harvard last week. … At Xavier, averaged 6.0 points and 2.6 assists in seven NCAA tournament games. Had 16 points against Baylor in the 2011-12 Sweet 16.

20 Jordin Mayes

• Role: Backup combo guard, plays point guard behind Lyons or shooting guard behind Johnson.

• Season highlights: Mayes struggled most of the season offensively but accelerated during the final two weeks of the regular season and into the postseason. Hit 2 of 3 three-pointers against Colorado in the Pac-12 tournament (March 14).

• NCAA tournament history: Had eight points with three assists against Harvard last Saturday. In 2010-11, hit 4 of 4 threes, finishing with 16 points, two rebounds and two steals against Texas. Had eight points in 14 minutes against Memphis.
