Arizona women: Slumping, sloppy Cats face No. 6 Cal

The UA's Carissa Crutchfield and Alli Gloyd, right, struggled to contain Stanford on Friday. The Cats will take on Cal today.

The Arizona Wildcats will try to snap a six-game losing streak today, when they take on sixth-ranked Cal in Berkeley, Calif. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Today's game is the latest in what has been a lopsided rivalry between the two schools. The Golden Bears have won 12 straight against Arizona since 2007, including a 78-74 overtime thriller a year ago. Before that, the UA beat Cal 19 consecutive times from 1996 to 2005.

Arizona (11-11 overall, 3-8 Pac-12) is coming off a 30-point loss to No. 4 Stanford Friday night. Alli Gloyd led the Wildcats with 13 points, and Kama Griffitts added eight points and had four steals. Star Davellyn Whyte was just 1 for 10 from the field.

Cal (20-2, 10-1) is tied with Stanford for first place in the conference. Layshia Clarendon leads the Golden Bears with 15 points per game. She played all 40 minutes against Arizona State on Friday night, scoring 18 points.
