Mark Lyons has a European pro home.
The former Arizona Wildcats guard signed a one-year deal with Chorale Roanne, a team in Pro A, the premier professional league in France, his agent Chris Emens confirmed today.
Lyons’ contract has an out clause if he sticks with an NBA team, Emens said. Lyons will play for the Toronto Raptors when they debut in the NBA Summer League on Saturday in Las Vegas, though a spot on that team is no guarantee of an NBA contract.
Lyons will be featured as a point guard on the French team.
“Good league, they’re going to play him at point guard, good coach,” Emens said. “Safe money.”
The 24-year-old averaged 15.6 points in his only season at the UA after transferring from Xavier.
