Arizona Wildcats fans, say hello to "Zona." And silver.

Nike announced a new uniform kit for the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team today, along with every other men's and women's team nationwide to win a national title in the shoe giant's gear.

The Wildcats are scheduled to wear the uniform only once, thus far, on Feb. 25 at home against UCLA.

The UA's new Hyper Elite Platinum uniform has the following features:

— A silver uniform with "Zona" written across the front in white with red piping.

— Red piping across the V-neck of the jersey and down the side of the shorts, with "Cats" written down the shorts, like the team's current uniform.

— Not a stitch of navy blue. Nike said it wanted to "electrify" school colors against the silver backdrop.

— Embellishments on the jerseys and shorts are reflective.

Each school to win a title was given a silver uniform in a webcast early this morning.

"Every single stitch was evaluated," Nike global creative director Tracy Teague said. "This is our new definition of the modern uniform of basketball."

Teague said players demanded uniforms that are more lightweight. Shorts weigh 5 ounces.

The shorts are made from 100 percent recycled polyester. The jerseys are 96 percent. Each uniform is made from plastic recycled from 22 plastic bottles.

The UA was one of nine schools to receive the new jersey, alongside Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Syracuse and North Carolina. The UConn men's and women's teams and the Baylor women also got new gear.
