Arizona Wildcats senior Davellyn Whyte converted a three-point play with 14 seconds left to help the UA defeat Utah 62-58 in Salt Lake City on Friday night.

Whyte scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the Wildcats (11-5, 3-2 Pac-12). She also had six steals, six assists and six turnovers.

The UA never trailed in the first half and led by as much as eight points before seeing its advantage cut to 32-28 at the break.

The teams battled closely in a second half that had 11 lead changes and nine ties before Whyte's layup and free throw put the Cats up for good.

After Utah's Rachel Messer missed the front end of a one-and-one, UA sophomore Layana White grabbed the rebound in a scramble and was fouled. She hit both free throws with 4.5 seconds left to up the lead to 62-58.

White finished with eight points, five rebounds and two steals.

Utah (9-7, 0-5) was led by Michelle Plouffe's 18 points and nine rebounds.
