Frank Scelfo appears headed back to coaching.

The former Arizona Wildcats assistant has reportedly been hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as their quarterbacks coach.

Coachingsearch.com first reported the hire Wednesday night and ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweeted about Scelfo this morning.

Scelfo spent two seasons with the Wildcats, serving as the QBs coach in 2010 and 2011.

Under his tutelage, Wildcats signal-caller Nick Foles thrived in his final two seasons in Tucson, throwing for 7,525 yards and 48 TDs over the two years. Foles than was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft.

Scelfo, originally hired by Mike Stoops, was not retained when Rich Rodriguez took over.

The veteran coach was out of the business this past season, saying he didn’t want to rush into an opportunity. He has recently worked with Matt Scott, preparing him for this year’s draft.

Scelfo wasn’t the only Stoops-era assistant to land a new job this week.

Garret Chachere, who was an assistant at the UA from 2009-2011, has been hired at Cal by Sonny Dykes.

Chachere coached wide receivers and running backs for Stoops, but will coach defensive ends for Dykes and the Golden Bears.

He spent the 2012 season at Southern Miss, coaching special teams and tight ends.
