Ka'Deem Carey continues to rake in the All-America awards.

The Arizona Wildcats sophomore running back was named a first-team All-American by Walter Camp and The Sporting News today, putting him one selection away from being the UA's first consensus All-American since 2007.

Carey is the first offensive player in Arizona history named to the Walter Camp All-America team. He is the Wildcats’ first honoree since defensive back Antoine Cason in 2007. Carey joins a list of nine defensive specialists who have collected 10 Walter Camp All-America certificates. They are: Cason, DB, 2007; Chris McAlister, DB, 1998; Tedy Bruschi, DL, 1994 and 1995; Tony Bouie, DB, 1994; Rob Waldrop, DL, 1993; Darryl Lewis, DB, 1990; Chuck Cecil, DB, 1987; Allen Durden, DB, 1985; Ricky Hunley, LB, 1983.

The Sporting News named Carey, the UA's star running back, to its first-team All-America squad, released today. Carey is one of two backs on the team: Oregon's Kenjon Barner is the other. The full All-America team, presented in slideshow form, can be  found by clicking here.

The awards are the fourth in four days for Carey, a Canyon del Oro High School product who leads the nation with 146.42 rushing yards per game. He earned honors from and Athlon Sports earlier this week. The early returns increase Carey's chances of being named a consensus first-teamer; the Associated Press and Football Writers Association of America the other two "majors", will be released next week. Carey needs to be selected by just one of the two to be labeled a consensus pick.

The UA (7-5) will face Nevada in the Dec. 15 New Mexico Bowl, held at Albuquerque's University Stadium.
