The Arizona Wildcats’ upset win over USC is already paying off.

Mario Alford, a junior-college player from Georgia Military College, verbally committed to the UA this morning, according to the Scout.com recruiting service. Alford spent the weekend in Tucson on an official visit, and was in the stands when the Wildcats upset the Trojans 39-36 Saturday afternoon.

Alford is the second Georgia Military player to verbally commit to the UA’s Class of 2013. Linebacker Brandon Golson committed last month.

Scout.com lists Alford as a three-star recruit; he’s listed by most recruiting services as an “athlete”, meaning he can play either offense or defense. Alford has experience at running back, but could also play in the secondary.

Georgia recruited Alford heavily a year ago as a possible addition to their 2012 class.
