ARIZONA 52 WASHINGTON 17: Cats back on track

Former Canyon del Oro running back Ka'Deem Carey high-steps his way out of a tackle en route to a trip inside Washington's 5-yard line. Carey ran 29 times for 172 yards and a touchdown as Arizona dominated on the ground.

Arizona Wildcats running back Ka'Deem Carey has been added to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, given annually to the nation's top offensive player.

Through seven games, Carey — a sophomore — has rushed for 842 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 222 receiving yards rank third on the team.

The Canyon del Oro High School product was at his best in Saturday’s win over the Huskies, rushing 29 times for a career-high 172 yards and a touchdown and catching one pass for a pair of yards in the Wildcats.

Arizona (4-3 overall, 1-3 Pac-12) will face powerhouse USC this weekend at Arizona Stadium.

Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced next week, and the three finalists will be announced November 19. The winner of the 2012 Maxwell Award will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show, held in December.
