Sati Santa Cruz, a junior at Sahuarita, has accepted an invitation to play in the Under Armour All-America Game, Baseball America announced Monday night.

The 6-foot-3-inch 225-pound right-hander is one of three initial commits for the game, which will be played at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, on Aug. 16. It will be aired live on MLB Network.

Santa Cruz, who struck out 77 batters last season and had a 2.66 ERA, is the second player from Southern Arizona to be invited to the event that began in 2008. Sahuaro slugger and left-handed pitcher Alex Verdugo starred in the game last August.
