Sahuaro junior left hander Alex Verdugo was among three players to be added to the roster for the Under Armour All-American game Friday.

The game will feature 36 the nation's top baseball players and will be played August 24 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. It will be aired live nationally on MLB Network.

Verdugo, a pitcher and outfielder who will likely be drafted next summer, is one of two players from Arizona on the roster so far. The other is Ryan Castellani from Phoenix Brophy.

As Sahuaro's ace, Verdugo maintained a 1.29 ERA and struck out 131 batters to finish the season 10-0. He also batted .484 and brought in 40 runs on 45 hits including nine doubles, seven triples and seven home runs.
