Walden Grove senior Trey Cashion was the only local boys swimmer to win two individual titles at the Division II state championship meet.
He’s also the only one who can call himself our boys swimmer of the year.
Cashion won the 200 free and 100 back at state. Earlier in the year, he won the 100 back at the High School Classic and was second in the 100 free but his time would have won the event at state had he swam it.
Cashion, who swims for Ford Aquatics, was in Greensboro, N.C., last week to compete at the Junior National Championships and will surely be swimming in college next year.
