Due to some scheduling confusion, we thought Sabino was hosting Goodyear Desert Edge on Friday night.
However, the Sabercats will actually take on the Scorpions, last year's Division III state runner-up, tonight at 7.
Sabino (1-1) was originally scheduled to play Desert Edge tomorrow, when the Arizona Interscholastic Association released its schedule but the schools recently agreed to move the game up to Thursday because Yom Kippur begins Friday at sundown.
With the Sabercats in action tonight, there are 14 games taking place in the Tucson area. Go to http://goo.gl/ltNiZk for capsules on all the games tonight.
This will be the first time Sabino and Desert Edge meet but it might not be the only time they play this season.
The Scorpions (3-0) appear to be heading back to the state tournament after losing last year's Division II state championship game, 9-7.
Meanwhile, the Sabercats are also expected to get back to the D-III state playoffs with a pair of highly-recruited college prospects in WR/DE Matt Bushman and lineman Andrew Mike. Both were on the team two years ago that was one win away from a trip to the state finals.
Sabino opened their season with a 49-7 blowout loss to Salpointe Catholic on the road but responded with a 27-14 win at Sahuaro to get its season back on track.
