Cienega's first-ever trip to a basketball state championship game didn't go as planned.

The third-seeded Bobcats went scoreless in the third quarter while No. 1 Chandler Seton Catholic scored 13 straight points on their way to a 37-30 win in the girls Division II state final this morning at Jobing.com Arena.

The loss was just the second of the season for Cienega and first in 11 games.

The Bobcats went into the half with a 16-14 lead but trailed 24-16 heading into the fourth quarter. They pulled within two points of tying the game with 3:35 left but couldn't get any closer than that.

Senior Denesia Smith led Cienega with nine points, seven of which came in the first half. Junior Treyanna Clay had six points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and four steals.
