Palo Verde junior Sydni Stallworth had a career night tonight scoring 42 points but the 19th-seeded Titans fell in first round of the Division III state tournament.

Host Kayenta Monument Valley beat Palo Verde 60-53 and will play No. 3 Pusch Ridge Christian on Saturday at Amphitheater at 5 p.m.

The Titans weren't the only Southern Arizona team to lose tonight. In fact, every other local team in action lost.

The other Division III team playing was No. 23 Sahuarita and it lost at Many Farms 71-25.

In the Division II state tournament, No. 14 Sahuaro fell to Scottsdale Notre Dame 46-43 while No. 21 Ironwood Ridge lost a close one at Buckeye, 44-43. No. 20 Canyon del Oro also lost on the road, 57-55, at Kingman.
