Sahuaro held a signing ceremony Wednesday afternoon for eight athletes going on to play in college.

The group included three softball players: Taylor Lawson, Brooklyn Beardshear and Savannah Fuller.

Lawson, an outfielder, is signed to play for Valparaiso and was the only Cougar heading to the Division I level.

Beardshear, a pitcher, is set to play for Division II Dixie State College in St. George, Utah and Fuller, an outfielder, will go to NAIA Lyon College in Batesville, Ark.

Girls soccer player Anyssa Dagnino was nominated to the Star’s All-Southern Arizona second team and is going to New Mexico Highlands University, a Division II school in Las Vegas, N.M.

Alex Howe and Jason Fierro are heading to Pima College to play football while Kassidy Crawford will play volleyball for the Aztecs.

Frankie Silva, who is currently third on the baseball team with a .359 batting average, will continue playing at Cochise College.
