The Division IV boys and girls state tournaments are set to start Thursday and Desert Christian has a strong presence in both brackets.

On the boys side, Desert Christian earned the No. 1 seed and a bye in the opening round. Desert Christian's first game is Saturday at St. Gregory against the winner of Benson and Willcox.

Saturday's game is at 3 p.m. Desert Christian went 12-0 in games that counted toward seedings.

The girls team opens play Thursday. The Eagles earned the No. 2 seed and play No. 7 Camp Verde at 5 p.m., in Phoenix at Xavier Prep.

If the Eagles win Thursday's game, they will return to action on Saturday in the semifinals against the winner of Round Valley and Show Low.

The Division IV state title games are both set for Nov. 3 at Gilbert Campo Verde. The girls game is at noon and the boys follow at 2:30 p.m.
