Sahuaro junior sensation Alex Verdugo struck out 10 batters and drove in three runs as the fourth-seeded Cougars beat Catalina Foothills 10-0 in five innings.

Verdugo went 2 for 3 at the plate and improved to 9-0 with the complete-game win. Verdugo, a left-hander who throws in the low-90s, was the subject of this column from the Star's Greg Hansen today.
