The AIA released "seedings" for volleyball this afternoon at 1 p.m. Seedings have taken the place of "power rankings" and are calculated by MaxPreps.

The seedings will be updated once a week (on Tuesdays) instead of after every match like previous seasons.

Currently, two teams would qualify for the Division I state tournament. Tucson is ranked No. 13 and Rincon/University is one spot behind at No. 14.

Salpointe Catholic, at No. 4, is the highest ranked local team in Division II. Ironwood Ridge is at No. 9. Catalina Foothills (13), Sahuaro (15) Mountain View (18), Canyon del Oro (23) and Sabino (24) would all be in the playoffs if they began today.

Sahuarita is the highest local team in the Division III rankings at No. 11 Catalina follows at No. 14 and Empire is at No. 18.
