The Tucson Padres (4-12) open up a four-game homestand with Salt Lake (11-5) tonight at Kino Stadium. It's a good game if you like prospects — especially Angels prospects. The Bees will start superprospect Mike Trout in left field tonight. Four former major-leaguers — catcher Hank Conger, right fielder Ryan Langerhans, designated hitter Paul McAnulty and second baseman Jorge Cantu — are all in the Bees' starting lineup. Former Arizona State stars Kole Calhoun will hit fifth for the Angels' Triple-A affiliate; shortstop Andrew Romine was a late scratch.

Here's what tonight's lineups look like. The T-Pads continue to be without catcher Yasmani Grandal, who has been on the disabled list since their last homestand.

The lineups:

A few pregame notes:

• Suppan, the 2006 NLCS Most Valuable Player, is making his Tucson Padres debut. The right-hander missed the first two weeks of the PCL season with a strained right forearm. The Padres signed Suppan this offseason for organizational depth; he spent the 2011 season in the Kansas City Royals organization. Suppan is expected to throw about 50 pitches.

• Catcher Yasmani Grandal and shortstop Beamer Weems both ran and worked out with the team today. Manager Terry Kennedy said it's "more a matter of days" than weeks until they return. Pitcher Casey Kelly is expected to miss the next month or longer as he rehabs an arm injury.

• The Padres made four errors in the fourth inning Friday, meaning they took extra infield practice before today's game in 100 degree heat.

• Outfielder Blake Tekotte, the Padres' most consistent hitter so far this seaso, has the night off.

• The Padres are 1-3 against the Bees this season.

• Little leaguers get into tonight's game free.
