Today wasn't the best day to arrive in Chicago, where pro basketball hopefuls such as Nick Johnson were trying to fly in for the NBA combine.

While Johnson flew back to San Francisco, Aaron Gordon's mother, Shelly Davis, said her son was also trying to get to Chicago -- but she had no idea as of this afternoon where exactly he was.

"It's like 'Where's Waldo?' " she said.

Johnson has been training in the Bay area while Gordon has been in Santa Barbara, with a quick stop back in Tucson this weekend to clear out his gear.

Damon Stoudamire had a second conversation with OSU about the Beavers' job opening, while former Trail Blazers guard Terry Porter has expressed interest. Mike DeCourcy says OSU will interview Porter.

Both Jahii Carson and Jordan Bachynski of ASU are hoping to show some things at the combine this week.

Ernie Kent pulled in his third recruit at Washington State.
