Serbian 7-footer Dusan Ristic is scheduled to announce his college choice on Saturday, and the early decision suggests the Arizona Wildcats are likely to land him.

Ristic's coach at Sunrise Christian Academy of Kansas, Kyle Lindsted, confirmed via text message today that Ristic will announce his choice at 1 p.m. on Saturday before a Sunrise game. Arizona will face Oregon an hour later.

Ristic visited Arizona last weekend and took in the Wildcats' Pac-12-clinching win over Stanford. Lindsted said before the visit that Ristic had been talking with Arizona "pretty exclusively" and would decide afterward if he would play for the Wildcats or open his recruitment to other schools.

Lindsted said associate head coach Joe Pasternack had established an early relationship with Ristic, who eventually took to the idea of following a U.S. path toward the NBA instead of signing a long-term pro deal at home.

“I don’t know all the details but I know (Arizona) had been recruiting him even when he was over there,” Lindsted said. “They kind of convinced him that he should come to the States instead of staying there. We have a close friend of his and he was looking for a (high) school, so we were able to convince him to come to our place."

Ristic is 7-feet and 240 pounds. He was placed in the late first round of Draft Express' 2015 mock NBA draft as of last week but is no longer listed on it. Draft Express president Jonathan Givony said he moved Ristic off because he thinks he will stay in college two years.
