Arizona picked up another No. 1 ranking for 2012 recruiting classes so far, this time by MaxPreps.
The Wildcats are also rated No. 1 by ESPN, although UCLA still has a shot to leapfrog them if it happens to get Shabazz Muhammad.
Arizona so far has landed forwards Grant Jerrett and Brandon Ashley and guard Gabe York. It is scheduled to host its top remaining 2012 target, Kaleb Tarczewski, during the weekend of Oct. 21, after Tarczewski visits Kansas.
Other recruiting notes:
-- Aaron Gordon will be making his scheduled unofficial visit to Arizona this weekend.
- Scout.com is reporting on its subscription site that Italian point guard Amedeo Della Valle has been offered a scholarship by Arizona for the class of 2012. He is waiting until spring to sign, which is what Arizona needs because the Wildcats won't have a scholarship available if Kaleb Tarczewski commits and they won't know if Josiah Turner will be leaving until the spring.
-- Multiple reports noted that UA made an in-home visit Tuesday with Fresno, Calif., big man Robert Upshaw, another 2012 prospect who says he'll wait until spring to sign -- making him a prime spring target if Tarczewski chooses Kansas.
