Finding, watching March Madness games gets easier for pay-TV subscribers

You don't have to pay an arm and a leg to see Coach Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats, and other March Madness games, on live video.

Sean Miller just missed some pretty good regular-season contract bonuses, but he could make up for it all this weekend.

Miller’s contract, with guaranteed pay of $2.2 million this season, includes an extra $50,000 bonus if the Wildcats reach the Elite Eight and another $175,000 if they get to the Final Four.

Miller has already earned $20,000 extra for UA winning 20 regular-season games and $75,000 for for reaching the Sweet 16.

But he would have received an extra $20,000 if the Wildcats won 25 regular-season games (they had only 24) and he did not get bonuses of $50,000 each for the Pac-12 regular-season and tournament titles.

So that puts his total pay so far at $2,295,000 this season plus any academic incentives (he will probably get $25,000 for UA’s APR being 949 or better and could get $25,000 if the team has an overall GPA of 2.6 or better). His maximum incentives are $985,000, though he also gets $300,000 annually toward a retention bonus if he stays through next year.

According to a bonus breakdown by USA Today's Steve Berkowitz, Ohio State's Thad Matta has much smaller incentives this weekend: He'll get only $20,000 for reaching the Elite Eight and another $20,000 for making the Final Four.

Matta received $40,000 when OSU received an NCAA tournament bid and $40,000 plus a one-year contract extension, when the Buckeyes won the Big Ten title, according to USA Today.

Prediction whiz Nate Silver has increased Arizona's chances to win it all up to 1.8 percent.

Silver writes: "Ohio State, Arizona’s opponent on Thursday, is a huge obstacle, but the game will be played in Los Angeles, and if the Wildcats win it, they should be favored against either Wichita State or La Salle in the regional final."

SI's Andy Glockner breaks down the West Regional, and picks Ohio State to come out of L.A. alive.

But Dime says the Wildcats will make the Final Four.

If UCLA really wants Mark Gottfried, they'll probably have to take care of a $3.75 million buyout in his N.C. State contract.

Josh Pastner's recruits are relieved to hear a contract extention means he's probably not leaving for L.A., or anywhere.
