ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Still more buzz here about Sean Miller's future, which may be partly because there are so many North Carolina media here asking him about the Wolfpack's job opening.

The Raleigh News & Observer noted that Miller said "we'll see where we go." (and it broke down his words even further in a blog)

Greg Byrne has indicated Miller is going nowhere - and it would be no surprise if Miller gets an extension or new deal at UA shortly after the season -- so I suspect there are any one of three things going on here (in order of estimated probability):

1) Miller isn't flat-out denying interest because he (like any smart negotiator in any business) is aware of the potential leverage gain.

2) Miller is still a bit puzzled about being passed over for the N.C. State job when Sidney Lowe was hired in 2006 and is aware the table is turned now. Plus, it can't hurt your marketability to have your name linked to any high-major vacancy.

3) Miller actually has some undisclosed interest -- especially if there's a 50 percent raise involved (N.C. State reportedly can offer $3 million). Remember, Jim Livengood said that Miller initially expressed no interest in UA's opening.

Miller said he's happy at Arizona, while brother Archie has some interesting insight about his decision to take the job two years ago.

The New York Times has a good read on well-regarded statistician Ken Pomeroy. The article quotes UA staffer Danny Peters in the process; UA's coaches have been big believers in the kenpom.com numbers, too.

Looks like there's been some betting action on the Wildcats, since the line has settled in at 8.5 after Duke was installed as a 10-point favorite.

After DeAngelo Casto contested his marijuana charge, WSU reinstated him -- and the Cougars edged Northwestern to reach the NIT semifinals in New York.

Spokane Spokesman-Review columnist John Blanchette had a little fun discussing what he called "Team Spliff."

And Bud Withers of the Seattle Times says it's been a long, strange trip for the Cougs.
