New Orleans power forward Craig Victor will announce his college choice on Saturday, according to his travel-ball coach.

New Orleans Elite coach Greg Holmes told the Star via text message today that Victor will not take any visits before making the decision. Victor said in Las Vegas last month that he "was loving" Arizona but was thinking of taking visits before making his decision.

Victor is transferring from New Orleans St. Augustine High School to Findlay Prep for his senior season.

Scout reported Wednesday that Victor would be making the decision soon while PointGuardU said earlier this month it believed that Victor was a "silent commit" for Arizona. Without naming the school, Holmes told ZagsBlog that Victor appeared to be "90-95 percent certain." Now there's speculation that LSU has gained steam in Victor's recruitment.

Is that a smokescreen, or is Victor really leaning toward the Tigers? It's recruiting, of course, so stay tuned...

Arizona may be involved in ESPN GameDay again next season: Its Feb. 22 game at Colorado is under consideration, along with UCLA's game at Stanford that day.

The decision will be made two weeks beforehand. Since I wouldn't be surprised to see UA and Colorado finish 1-2 in the Pac-12 this season, there's a good chance the Wildcats-Buffs game will be the choice. But UCLA and Stanford both are loaded with returning talent.

The game that is chosen will be played at 7 p.m. MST on ESPN while the other game will be on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 4 p.m.

A public celebration of Dave Sitton's life will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at McKale Center. Doors will open at 5:30 and parking is free.

Cal point guard Justin Cobbs will have foot surgery that could impact his availability for early preseason practices.

Washington's Hikeem Stewart looked pretty good in a summer-league appearance.

And UA target Stephen Zimmerman needs an exit row seat this month.
