LOS ANGELES – Even if UCLA can beat Arizona tonight, Bruins coach Ben Howland spoke as if he wouldn’t want to face the Wildcats later this month.

“They’re a really good team,” Howland said. “Miami and Florida are 1 or 2 seeds and that’s two of their wins. Regardless of what happens here and or the rest of the season, Arizona is going to be a real problem for anybody to deal with in the NCAA tournament.

“They could be a Final Four team, no doubt about it. They’ve got seniors, a good point guard, depth, they’re well-coached and they played a tough schedule.”

There's national interest in tonight's game, and locally. UCLA has had five-figure crowds only six times this season but has sold out Pauley Pavilion tonight.

--

ESPN GameDay analysts were bullish on UCLA's chances today, but, for what it's worth, Drew and Kyle Anderson did not connect at all during the "Know Your Teammate" segment.

Meanwhile, Jay Bilas enjoyed a "typical" night out before the event.

Here's the game notes from UCLA and Arizona.

The Bruins Nation blog is critical of UCLA's new uniform additions. (They won't be worn today but Howland says they will be for at least one Pac-12 Tournament game).

-

Rondae Jefferson was a "man amongst boys" as Chester HS won a regional title on Friday (the Clippers will play in the state tourney starting next Saturday).

--

Ivan Rabb, a UA target in the class of 2015, is drawing favorable comparisons to Brandon Ashley at Bishop O'Dowd.

Other Pac-12 games today:

ASU at USC, 1 p.m. (FSN)

Colorado at Cal, 3 p.m. (ESPNU). Josh Scott is expected to be back for the Buffs.
