Incoming Arizona Wildcats forward Aaron Gordon was one of 12 players making the final cut tonight for USA Basketball's U19 team to compete in the World Championships later this month.
Two Arizona recruiting targets also made the team: Houston wing Justise Winslow and big man Jahlil Okafor of Chicago. Winslow, who just turned 17 in March, is the youngest player on the team and will also be eligible for the U19 team again in 2015.
Oregon guard Damyean Dotson did not make the final roster but incoming Washington point guard Nigel Williams-Goss did. Arizona forward Brandon Ashley and incoming freshman wing Rondae Hollis-Jefferson were cut on Sunday.
The USA players were told of the final decisions after tonight's workout in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Gordon promptly tweeted out his excitement just minutes before the announcement was made public.
I'm so happy to make the U19 USA team at 17 years old... #GOLD is the only thing in mind.— Aaron Gordon (@_AG_32) June 18, 2013

Florida coach Billy Donovan, who is heading the U19 coaching staff, said in a USA Basketball release that the team will be aggressive and uptempo.
