Arizona has moved from No. 12 to 11 in both the AP media Top 25 and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 poll.

The Wildcats also have an RPI of 11 and a Sagarin rating of 17, suggesting they are in the 3-4 seed range for the NCAA tournament heading into their trip to Los Angeles this week.

Sean Miller was asked during his weekly news conference last week about Mark Lyons and discussed Lyons and the other point guards he has had so far at UA (Nic Wise, MoMo Jones and Josiah Turner).

In light of the commitment from the pass-first Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Miller's comments may have been of interest:

"The point guards I’ve coached here at Arizona have been much different than the style I’ve played," Miller said. "That doesn’t mean anything. A few years ago we had MoMo Jones as our point guard and he was more combo than point and that worked out just fine that year. Since he’s left he’s become a prolific scorer, with a Mark Lyons kind of game in terms of he can score.

"It puts maybe some more onus on some other players do to other things but sometimes when you have that complete and total floor general sometimes it makes the game look a little smoother. But at times maybe you don’t have that scoring punch and that player can get his own shot like we have this year. I try not to make too big a deal of it.

"We’re recruiting the junior class at point guard and 2014 and that’s a really ready big thing for our program moving forward that we get that right."
