Ka’Deem Carey has been named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Carey rushed for 206 yards on 48 carries in the UA’s 42-16 win over Oregon on Saturday. Arizona State’s Taylor Kelly, Stanford’s Ty Montgomery and Washington’s Bishop Sankey were among the others nominated.
Carey also won the award after the Utah game where he rushed for 232 yards on 39 carries.
Carey set the school’s all-time career rushing mark on Saturday, overtaking Trung Canidate. He also set the school record for career total touchdowns with 49.
Also today, Carey was named the national running back of the week by the College Football Performance Awards.
Carey joins Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota and Oregon State signal-caller Sean Mannion as the only players to win Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
The running back will now wait to see if he is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. The three finalists for that award, given to the top running back in college football, is expected to be announced today at 3 p.m.
Arizona State’s Chris Young was named the Defensive Player of the Week and UCLA’s Ishmael Adams won the special teams award.
