The Arizona Wildcats are getting a head start on their 2016 recruiting class. 

The UA picked up a commitment this afternoon from running back Trevor Speights of McAllen Memorial High School in McAllen, Texas. Speights is listed at 5-feet-10-inches and 175 pounds. He also had an offer from UTSA.

Speights is the second player to commit to the Wildcats for 2016. He joins quarterback Shea Patterson, a product of Shreveport, La., who also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Cal and TCU. Patterson committed to the UA after his freshman season.

Speights unofficially visited Arizona yesterday and today. The UA offered him a scholarship yesterday and Speights didn't waste much time, committing less than 24 hours after landing an offer.

The running back had 4,018 rushing yards during his first two seasons at McAllen Memorial.
