The Arizona Wildcats have picked up another interesting target in recruiting.

Arizona Western Community College safety Paul Magloire committed to the UA this morning. Magloire will be a member of the 2015 recruiting class and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

He will join Arizona as a mid-year enrollee after the 2014 season.

Magloire offers a unique story.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native spent the 2011 season at Milford Prep Academy in New York (the same school current wide receiver/running back T.J. Johnson attended) as a quarterback. Rated as a two-star recruit, he began his career as a quarterback at Appalachian State.

Magloire redshirted the 2012 season and then was moved to running back before the 2013 season by Appalachian State. He had two carries for nine yards that season.

Magloire then left Appalachian State and spent the spring at Arizona Western and moved to safety. His spring film found its way to the UA coaches, who were impressed enough by it to offer the newly transitioned safety a scholarship. The former Appalachian State product visited Arizona last month for the spring game.

The Wildcats offered Magloire a scholarship this morning and he jumped on it. The safety said he was also talking to Iowa State, Cal and Oregon State.

"It's hard to pass up a coaching staff like that," Magloire said of the UA and its staff. "It's a chance to play in the Pac-12 against all these big-time schools. I couldn't pass that up."

At Arizona Western, he will be a teammate of new running back commit Dami Ayoola, who pledged to the UA earlier this week. The two visited the UA together in April.

"I met Dami when he got to Arizona Western and we hang out a lot and talked a few times about what it would be like playing together," Magloire said. "I'm glad it gets to happen."
