The Arizona Wildcats are really into planning ahead.

Five days after announcing a home-and-home series with Mississippi State for 2022 and 2023, the Wildcats were busy making plans again. This morning, Arizona announced a two-game series with San Diego State for 2021 (in Tucson) and 2022 (in San Diego).

Arizona and San Diego State last played in 2001 in San Diego. The Wildcats won 23-10 in coach John Mackovic's debut. Arizona is 10-5 all-time against San Diego State and 110-71-7 against the Mountain West Conference.

The Aztecs posted an 8-5 record last season and won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl over Buffalo.

If Arizona continues to play NAU every other year, the Wildcats will need one more non-conference game for 2021 (NAU and San Diego State) and one more for 2022 (San Diego State and Mississippi State).
