The Arizona Wildcats will play a future home-and-home series with Mississippi State in 2022 and 2023, it was announced this morning. Arizona will host the Bulldogs in '22 and then travel to Starkville one year later for a rematch.

The exact dates of the games are Sept. 10, 2022 at the UA and Sept. 9, 2023 at Mississippi State.

The games were announced by both schools in separate news releases.

It will be the first time the two schools have met on the football field.

Current UA athletic director Greg Byrne served as Mississippi State's AD from 2008-2010, and served as an associate AD there from 2006-2008.

"We're excited to announce this competitive series for our future football schedules," Byrne said in the release. "The opportunity to play an SEC opponent will be a great addition to our schedule for our program and our fans."

Arizona is 1-5-1 all-time versus the SEC. The Wildcats last played a school from that conference in 2006 when they lost to LSU 45-3. All-time, Arizona is 1-2 vs. Auburn, 0-0-1 vs. Georgia and 0-3 vs. LSU.
