Quarterback Jesse Scroggins has officially been added to the Arizona Wildcats roster.

Scroggins enrolled in school at the start of the semester earlier this month and is participating in spring workouts with his new team.

Scroggins began his career at USC, but transferred to El Camino College in California for his sophomore campaign.

His new Wildcats bio says he’s expected to compete for the starting job in 2013, something coach Rich Rodriguez has already said.

“We need more competition at all positions, and at quarterback we’re going to get that,” said Rodriguez last month when Scroggins signed his letter of intent. “I’m excited about Jesse. Like Matt Scott this year, he’s a little bit of an older guy, he has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove himself. He’s a talented guy; he’ll compete.”

Rochon Taylor, a walk-on running back from San Diego, was also added to the roster.
