Former Arizona Wildcats women's basketball standout Davellyn Whyte was selected by the San Antonio Silver Stars in the second round of tonight's WNBA draft.

Whyte was the fourth pick of the second round and 16th overall.

She left Arizona as one of the most successful players in program history. Whyte, the daughter of former MLB star Devon White, finished with 2,059 points, the second most in Wildcats history.

She played and started in 126 games for the Wildcats, establishing a new program history for most career starts. Whyte also posted the school's only triple-double in a loss to rival Arizona State this past season.

The Phoenix native is the first Wildcats player to be drafted since Ify Ibekwe was selected by the Seattle Storm in the second round (24th overall) of the 2011 draft.
