In practice, the Arizona Wildcats' offensive players wear white jerseys and the defense wears blue.
Though if you watched enough practice in the spring, it was easy to get confused when it came to the cornerbacks.
A few were in the traditional blues, but there was also a small handful in green - a color no player wants to wear. Green jerseys signify the player is recovering from an injury and isn't cleared for full contact.
Starters Jonathan McKnight, a junior, and seniors Shaquille Richardson and Derrick Rainey were in green this spring recovering from offseason surgeries.
Not an ideal situation for a coach, but also not the worst thing in the world. Better the spring than the regular season.
"I hate that those guys are out because they need the reps, and they need to get better," cornerbacks coach David Lockwood said during spring practice. "But at the same time, it gives other guys more reps, so when you get in the season if someone goes down, they've had some reps."
McKnight, Richardson and Rainey should be fine for the regular season and will try to improve a pass defense that last season allowed 3,807 passing yards and 25 touchdowns.
Here's our reset of the cornerbacks.
What the group looked like before spring practice: Jourdon Grandon, a junior; Brendan Murphy, a senior; Justin Samuels, a senior; Shane Wilson, a freshman; McKnight; Rainey; Richardson.
What it looks like now: Richard Morrison, a senior; David Redmon, a junior; Grandon, McKnight, Murphy, Rainey, Richardson, Samuels, Wilson.
Help on the way: Derek Babiash, Poway, Calif.; Devin Holiday, San Marcos, Calif.; Jarvis McCall, Seffner, Fla.; Lee Walker, San Diego, all freshman.
By the numbers: 292.8: The UA gave up 292.8 passing yards a game last season, worst in the Pac-12.
The lowdown: Babiash is ranked as a four-star recruit by the Scout.com recruiting service and is one of the headliners of the UA's class.
Morrison moved from wide receiver to cornerback and had a strong spring at his new position. He'll stay there this season.
Redmon is a walk-on who was kept on the roster after spring ball.
