A- B.J. Denker was stellar in place of the injured Matt Scott, completing 12 of 14 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Denker also ran nine times for 44 yards and a score. He fumbled once, on a muffed exchange. Against the Pac-12's worst defense, Denker's performance was more than good enough.

Running backs

A+ Ka'Deem Carey set the UA's and Pac-12's single-game rushing record, rushing 25 times for 366 yards and a school-record five touchdowns against the Buffaloes. Carey finished 41 yards shy of the all-time NCAA rushing record; he likely would have gotten there had coaches not lifted him in the fourth quarter. Backups Jared Baker (2 carries, 5 yards) and Daniel Jenkins (1 carry, 4 yards) gave him a break.

Wide receivers

B+ The Wildcats' receivers played well against the Buffs, though they weren't asked to do much. Dan Buckner caught three passes for 38 yards and two scores; Davis Richards (3 catches, 39 yards) and Austin Hill (3 catches, 29 yards) and Carey (2 catches, 34 yards) all did what was asked of them; Johnny Jackson caught one pass for minus-4 yards.

Offensive line

A Arizona's front five dominated, despite being short-handed. The Cats rushed for 438 yards - tied for eighth on the all-time UA list, and a stunning 11.5 yards per carry - and Denker moved the ball without any pressure. Not bad for a unit playing without starting guard Chris Putton.

Front six

C+Luckily for the Wildcats, there are no style points in football. While Arizona cruised to an easy win, its defense allowed CU to gain 437 yards of offense and score 34 points. Linebacker Jake Fischer finished with a game-high 10 tackles; freshmen Dakota Conwell and C.J. Dozier saw their most playing time of the season.

Back five

C+ Another up-and-down performance by the secondary is cause for concern. But in the wake of a blowout, it's hard to complain: Safety Jared Tevis had eight tackles, and Tra'Mayne Bondurant had six tackles and forced the night's only turnover - an interception of Buffaloes quarterback Nick Hirschman.

Special teams

B Place-kicker John Bonano connected on all eight of his PAT attempts, extending his consecutive points-after streak to a school record 69 in a row. That tops the old mark of 68 held by Max Zendejas (1982-84). Jason Bondzio had 67 straight from 2007-08. Kyle Dugandzic punted twice for 82 yards against the Buffs, the latest in a string of good showings.
