A trial has been set for Arizona Wildcats running back Ka’Deem Carey.

Carey will go to trial on July 12 in Tucson City Court for assault and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a December incident involving his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

Carey did not appear at a 10 a.m. hearing today.

The victim appeared in court and the judge granted her request to lift the no contact order against Carey.

She cried when she spoke with the judge and said she thought the court proceedings were “over the top” for what happened.

The judge informed her that a trial date had been set and it was up to the prosecutor to move forward with prosecution.
