LOS ANGELES—The Arizona Wildcats gave it a last ditch effort, but couldn’t complete the comeback at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The UA fell to USC 38-31 despite two late touchdowns.
USC led by 21 with 14:46 to play in the game, but Arizona closed it to seven with 4:18 to play on a touchdown pass from B.J. Denker to Garic Wharton.
But when the Wildcats needed a stop from their defense, they didn’t get it.
USC ran out the clock to secure the win.
Arizona dropped to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in Pac-12 play.
Denker finished with a career-high 363 yards on 28 of 44 passing and four touchdowns. Ka’Deem Carey went over 100 yards for the eighth straight game with 138 yards on 21 carries.
Terrence Miller was the team’s leading receiver with six catches for 76 yards.
USC quarterback Cody Kessler was 15 for 30 for 297 yards and two scores in the Trojans win.
