Ka’Deem Carey rushed for 236 yards on a school-record 40 carries to lead Arizona to a 35-24 win over Utah tonight at Arizona Stadium.

Carey broke the previous school record for rushing attempts in a game (36) late in the fourth quarter and iced an Arizona win with a 44-yard touchdown run with 2:19 to play.

Arizona trailed 21-20 early in the fourth quarter, but quarterback B.J. Denker found freshman receiver Nate Phillips for a seven-yard touchdown to give the Wildcats the lead. Denker then ran the ball in for a two-point conversion and the UA never trailed again.

Denker finished 168 yards passing and the touchdown, completing 18 of his 30 passes. He added 51 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Wildcats and gave them their first Pac-12 win of the season. The UA now sits at 4-2 and 1-2 in league play.

Utah fell to 4-3 with the loss and 1-3 in the Pac-12. The Utes lost starting quarterback Travis Wilson to a hand injury in the first half.

Coach Rich Rodriguez’s team will travel to Colorado next week.
