The preseason high school football All-Southern Arizona team continues today with No.21 on our list of 22 players.

Check out a video clip on KVOA (Channel 4) tonight at 5:30 and 10.

The team was chosen by the Arizona Daily Star and the staff at KVOA and will be revealed daily through Sunday.

CEDRIC GONZALEZ• MLB/TE/FB • 6-1, 195 • Sunnyside, Jr.

• Who he is: Cedric Gonzalez is quite possibly the most impressive member of the area's junior class. As a sophomore in 2009, he started every game at middle linebacker, leading Sunnyside in tackles with 125. After the season, Gonzalez joined the wrestling team, then took fourth at state at 189 pounds (even though he weighed 170). Since then, Gonzalez has been in the weight room every day - twice a day. He enters this season 25 pounds heavier. Gonzalez has devoted his life to football with the hope of attaining a Division I scholarship. He says wrestling will take a back seat.

• Proof he's good: Gonzalez recently returned from a Nike combine in Salt Lake City, where he competed in six drills. He finished in the top 10 percent among juniors. Coach Richard Sanchez said Gonzalez also will play tight end and fullback.

• He said it: "I want to keep the weight on; I don't want to have to cut weight for wrestling. I want to be as big as possible and still be able to move well; still have my speed and agility."
