The Cardinals continued their search Tuesday for a new coach and general manager, but apparently not at the pace reported by several news outlets.

Multiple reports had the Cardinals close to hiring former Eagles coach Andy Reid, with an official announcement likely to come at the end of the week.

The Cardinals denied that and said they plan to proceed as team President Michael Bidwill outlined on Monday. Reid is a candidate, but no interview has been scheduled. Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton interviewed with Bidwill on Tuesday afternoon and was expected to meet with representatives from the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills soon.

Bidwill has an interview scheduled this weekend in Denver with Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

The Cardinals have other coaching candidates in mind, but those names have not become public. One could be Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who is in the Valley preparing his team for the Fiesta Bowl.

Bidwill and Steve Keim, the Cardinals vice president of player personnel, attended Oregon's practice on Tuesday, but that was for purposes of scouting players.

Bidwill fired coach Ken Whisenhunt and General Manager Rod Graves on Monday and is conducting simultaneous searches for their replacements.

Keim is a leading candidate for the general manager's job. He also is interviewing with the Chargers, and Jacksonville has expressed interest in interviewing him for its general-manager spot.

The Bills were scheduled to interview Whisenhunt in Arizona on Tuesday night.
