After five delays and more than four hours of waiting around, first round action at the WGC-Accenture Match Play championship has finally resumed.

Play picked up at 1 p.m., with the sun shining brightly and the two-plus inches of snow from Wednesday, cleared.

Play was scheduled to resume this morning at 8:30 a.m., but was delayed because snow still lined the fairways. Thanks to a few hours of sun and warming temperatures, the course was deemed in good enough shape to play.

Sergio Garcia had a chance to close out his match against Thongchai Jaidee with a putt on the 16th hole, but missed it. All total, 21 of the 32 matches have now begun.

Bo Van Pelt beat John Senden 6 and 5 in the first match to be completed

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry will tee off at 2 p.m., and Tiger Woods and Charles Howell III follow two groups later at 2:20.
