Ian Poulter has taken the last six weeks off from the PGA Tour.

He's been resting, mentally and physically, and planning his return to the Tour. The 37-year-old Englishman picked the WGC-Accenture Match Play to return for a couple of reasons.

"Like the format, like the golf course and I'm fresh and ready to go," Poulter said this afternoon. "I can't wait to get going. Hopefully the snow is going to stay away and the miserable weather."

Poulter won Match Play in 2010, beating Paul Casey 4 and 2 in the championship match. But, he hasn't gotten out of the first round in his last two appearances here, losing to Stewart Cink in 2011 and Sang-moon Bae last year.

"I'm looking forward to going out there and playing some good golf," Poulter said. "I feel like I'm very much ready."
