Four pitchers combined for a five-hit shutout as host Sacramento beat the first-place Tucson Padres 2-0 on Tuesday night.

The Padres (46-40) stranded seven runners, including Mike Wilson after he singled to open the ninth inning and moved to second on a passed ball.

Chris Resop, who relieved Pedro Figueroa with one out in the third, got the win for the River Cats (45-40), who trail Tucson by a half-game in the Pacific Coast League Pacific South.

Inside pitch

Three Padres and three former Arizona Wildcats will represent the Pacific Coast League at the Triple-A All-Star Game on July 17 in Reno, Nev.

The Padres' Rene Rivera will start at catcher, while Tucson infielder Dean Anna and pitcher Colt Hynes were named reserves.

Ex-Cats Brad Mills and Cory Burns of Round Rock and Jason Stoffel of Oklahoma City made the PCL All-Star team as pitchers.

The PCL will face the International League.
