Top-seeded Nogales will take on second-seeded Salpointe Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Hi Corbett Field in an all-Southern Arizona Class 4A state championship game.

The Lancers advanced to the title game with a walk-off, 4-3 victory over Tempe Corona del Sol Wednesday night. J. Bill Rivera ripped the game-winning shot in the seventh inning, scoring Paulo Rodriguez from first base. The win by Salpointe (25-7) prompted the Arizona Interscholastic Association to move the game to Tucson.

Nogales (27-4) is searching for its first state title since 1981. The Apaches are led by Marcel Bachelier, who is hitting .402 with 35 hits, 35 RBIs and 26 runs scored. Ace Mark Lopez is 11-0 in 14 appearances and carries a 1.44 ERA.
