Tucson's Caitlin Leverenz placed sixth in the 400 individual medley swimming final today in London.

In her first Olympic Games, the Sahuaro High grad swam 4 minutes 35.49 seconds and tied Australian Stephanie Rice for sixth place.

The event was won by Shiwen Ye of China in a world record time of 4:28.43.

Leverenz, 21, will next swim Monday in the 200 IM preliminaries.
