UA alum Georganne Moline had the best time Friday in the first round of the 400-meter hurdles at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Moline finished in 55.04 seconds and advanced to Saturday’s semifinals. The finals of the event are Sunday.
T’erea Brown, competing for Adidas, had the second-best time, 55.37.
UA alum Jake Arnold was in ninth place in the men’s decathlon after the first day. He had 3,796 points, 653 off the leader, Gunnar Nixon.
Two other athletes with ties to the UA failed to advance. LaTisha Holden, a UA volunteer assistant coach, was 23rd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.23. UA alum Nick Mossberg no-heighted in the pole vault.
